THE NEW YORK CHAPTER OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES ANNOUNCES ITS 54TH ANNUAL NEW YORK EMMY® AWARDS GALA TO BE HELD SUNDAY, APRIL 3, 2011
 
New York, NY, April 1, 2011– The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences proudly announces its 54th Annual New York Emmy® Awards Gala will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Marriott Marquis, Times Square. The New York Emmy® Awards honor content created primarily for the New York region. In attendance will be over 800 of the top professionals representing all facets of media, including familiar faces from news, entertainment, sports, production and advertising.
 
Ernie Anastos, Anchor of WNYW FOX 5’s Fox 5 News at 10:00 p.m., will receive a special Emmy® for Lifetime Achievement known as our prestigious GOVERNORS’ AWARD for his outstanding contributions to television. Joan Lunden, Emmy® Award-winning journalist and the longest-running host of early morning television, will present the special Emmy® Award.
 
“My sincerest thanks to the academy's distinguished members and the loyal viewers of New York throughout the years;” said Ernie, “I am deeply honored and humbled by this distinctive award. In the years ahead, I look forward to continuing to bring viewers compelling and uplifting stories about relevant issues in their lives.”

The New York Emmy® Awards will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable CUNY-TV channel 75 on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 9:00 PM. Encore presentation on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM.
