And now, for something completely different for MTF!
It's "Over The Edge", a reality entertainment TV series of some 500 surprising stories, about special places and meeting people who can do extraordinary things that are amazing and fun to watch. It will be introduced by a former MTF presenter, Harvey Chertok.
The series was created by Harry O, who was a student in Mr. Chertok's TV production class at NYU. “Over The Edge” is in a magazine format of 39 half-hours, or as 20 one-hour TV Specials. It is being distributed internationally, and has been seen in some 40 countries to date.
Some examples of the entertaining stories in this series: You don't like to wait a long time in a restaurant? How about going to one that seats 5,000, and the waiters fly to your table from the kitchen hanging from overhead cables? Like new sports? Try Zorbing. You go inside a giant 16-foot inflatable ball and roll down mountains. Are you into art? You should meet Mo Katz, the world's fastest artist who can paint an unexpectedly good picture in less that 60 seconds, using only a spatula and toilet paper. Like pizza? You could meet the fastest and most famous pizza maker in NYC, who does it blindfolded.
And for tonight, we'll see some 20 "Awesome" stories in a one-hour show, including such events as the amazing new speed sport of Cupstacking. What's that? Please come and have a look. Maybe you'd like to try it. You'll also meet a chess master who can play 15 games simultaneously and win 99% of the time. And, for your next vacation, you will see if you would like to visit the incredible Monkey City in Thailand. Also, you'll meet Franz Harary, the internationally acclaimed magician and illusionist who will make India's magnificent Taj Mahal disappear right before your eyes.
You will find out how this unique series came to be made by Harry O. And, following the screening of this "Awesome" show, your comments and reviews will be most welcome.
Harvey Chertok is the President of Quartet International, Inc., a worldwide production and distribution company; Co-Chair of the New York Chapter's Scholarship & Education Committee; and a former NATAS National Trustee. His previous MTF programs include "The Impossible Spy", a true-story movie about one of history’s greatest spies, starring John Shea & Eli Wallach; and his documentary about Hollywood's famous detective, "The Great Charlie Chan", which originally premiered at the Museum Of Modern Art. In addition, he co-produced "Hermitage Masterpieces", a major 9-hour art history series, from Ancient China to 20th Century France, seen on PBS and now on DVD.
Space is limited. You must RSVP to info@nyemmys.org to reserve a seat. Please write “Over The Edge” in the Subject Box.
