“A Seafood & Culinary Tour in New Brunswick, Canada” is the first episode of a brand new food and travel series written and narrated by Michael-Ann Rowe. She’s a woman on a mission: to eat her way through culture! Lead host and narrator Michael-Ann Rowe is a food lover, restaurateur and TV entertainer who takes an unabashed and inquisitive approach as she travels the globe disclosing culinary delicacies from their roots. She goes beyond mere “tastings” and reciting recipes; she gets to the heart of the food, no matter where it takes her. In this episode she travels back home to rediscover a unique province on the east coast of Canada where the French and the English converge and where land and sea work in tandem. She goes deep into a seafood and culinary culture like never before: fishing lobster in the middle of December! Ravages on smoked herring from the world’s oldest smoke house! Up north she unexpectedly discovers snow crab and shrimp, and a restored Acadian Village that dates back into the 1700s. She feeds on the world renowned Beausoleil oysters straight from the dock, finds world-class salmon smokers, and hunts morels with a real “mushroom hunter”! The journey doesn’t finish until she unravels the secrets to cooking this feast of seafood.
Michael-Ann Rowe is the Executive Producer of this new show, a spring-off of a New York restaurant series called Entrée TV. She was their host for six years and produced one of their most compelling stories “Mealtimes on Board the Ship” on the USS JFK Aircraft Carrier. She has a diversified career in acting, journalism and production, and takes full advantage of all of it! Hailing from Canada, she took a BA in Theatre at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia and moved to New York “on a wing and a prayer” in 1992. Her career highlights include a lead role in the acclaimed independent film “The Offering,” a lead in Sherri Heller’s off-off Broadway play “Mothers and Daughters,” and a lead voice in the anime series “Stratos 4.” Adding to this range of characters, she’s a sports columnist, a “foodie” and producer. With all of these assets, she’s on to her next full-time project: a new food and travel show.
