Join Emmy® Award-winning, Michael-Ann Rowe as she returns with her food & travel documentary series, “Off the Beaten Palate.” Michael-Ann narrates as she explores two more Canadian provinces discovering culture through food — it’s an adventure and authentic experience!
Michael-Ann interviews local personalities that define and distinguish Canadian Culture as she delves into the interior of Ontario and Alberta. In Ontario she kicks off her adventure at the top of the CN Tower, attempting the “Edge Walk”! She explores parts of Ontario’s ‘Golden Horseshoe’ region and learns how the Niagara Escarpment provides the province with its unique rich soil. In Alberta she explores a province that boasts a ‘Rocky Mountain’ lifestyle, two metropolitan cities and the golden prairie landscape; Michael-Ann learns how to rope a cow by a professional rancher, meets ‘the Beef Geek’ and learns why Canadian Bacon, Beef and Bison are so special. Along these adventures, Michael-Ann shares some amazing recipes that exemplifies, ‘eating local’ and ‘sustainability’, Off the Beaten Palate!
Michael-Ann has been nominated five times for the Taste Awards, won Best Media Journalist at Canadian Blog Awards and most recently, won an Emmy® Award for this series.
