The time was the mid-1980s. The city was Brantford, Ontario, Canada. The place was Bell Homestead. The people, from left to right, were Dr. Malcom Baird, Dr. Venkata Nadella (my father) & Mrs. Annapurna Nadella (my mother). To the casual viewer, it looks like nothing more than a personal photo, but there’s a story to be told that leads to present day.
The Buffalo Broadcasters Association commemorated their 20th Anniversary with an incredibly active year, including many social and networking events for our members. The signature event of the year was held in September 2016 with the induction of 6 broadcasters into the Hall of Fame. Don Paul, Tom McCray, Susan Hunt, Larry Norton, Nolan Johannes, and Steve Zappia were honored for their achievements in the field of broadcasting.
No one ever truly prepares you for life’s disappointments. We heard it from our parents when we were growing up, our teachers in almost every grade, and every “inspirational” quote we have ever read, “Disappointments are a part of life.” According to Google, the definition of disappointment is, “The feeling of sadness or displeasure caused by the non fulfillment of one's hopes or expectations.” However, for Millennials just starting out, trying to make it in this tumultuous world we call Television and Entertainment, they define disappointment as, “A kick in the nuts!”
